Inside the library are shelves and shelves of goodies for sale at remarkable prices. Make your selection, deposit what you’d like to pay (please be generous), and hurry home to start reading. Computer Basics for Everyday People

Sierra’s Friendly Computers is a beginner-friendly computer literacy program designed for adults and seniors who want to learn how to use a computer in a calm, supportive environment. This program starts at the very beginning, including how to turn a computer on and off, use a mouse and keyboard, understand what’s on the screen, and safely use email and internet. Please bring your own device and plan to attend all four classes as the program is a series where every class will build on the previous weeks lesson. 

No prior experience is required!

Mad Science Magic of Science Show

A magician’s worst nightmare – Magic secrets will be revealed as the students understand the pivotal role science plays in the world of magic. Discover how magicians use science to create illusions and slight-of-hand to misdirect their audiences. We will unravel the mystery of mind bending rope and card tricks, and see if magicians make things really disappear.

Join us for “The Living Legacies of The Exiles of Florida,” an exploration of a forgotten abolitionist text. Historian William Hustwit and archaeologist Uzi Baram will discuss the impact of Joshua Reed Giddings’ 1858 book The Exiles of Florida. An unflinching account of the Seminole Wars and the southern Underground Railroad, Giddings’s work remains a powerful catalyst for discussion today. Part of the America 250 speaker series, this event is free and open to the public.
